When traveling with family—especially with little ones (ages 0 to 7) or grandparents—the unexpected is just part of the journey. At Explore El Salvador, we handle health and schedule changes with complete empathy, flexibility, and practical support.

Here is how we take care of you when things don’t go strictly according to plan:

1. Minor Health Issues (On-the-Go Flexibility)

Waking up with a mild stomachache, car sickness, or extreme fatigue happens. It shouldn’t ruin your day, and it doesn’t mean your tour is canceled.

  • Flexible Departures: If your family needs a little extra time in the morning to settle down, our staff is fully authorized to make due adjustments to the departure time and fit the day’s pace so you don’t miss out.

  • Real Help in the Field: Our staff are ready to assist. Need a restroom break, a safe spot to pull over for motion sickness, or help finding a local pharmacy for over-the-counter medicine? We’ve got you covered.

  • Pace and Route Adjustments: If someone is feeling unwell during the tour, we simply adapt—opting for shorter paths, shaded rest areas, or air-conditioned spots so everyone stays comfortable.

2. Medical Emergencies & Cancellations

If a serious health issue or medical emergency forces you to cancel your plans entirely, we believe in treating you fairly and humanely.

  • Reschedule at No Extra Cost: If you need to cancel within 24 to 48 hours of your tour due to a documented medical emergency involving a child or a senior family member, we will gladly reschedule your tour at no additional penalty (subject to availability).

  • Flexible Refunds: If rescheduling simply isn’t an option for your trip, we will refund your recoverable balance (minus any unrecoverable third-party provider and/or transactions fees). Your family’s well-being always comes first.

Note that this protocols apply exclusively in our tours and destinations tagged as Family Friendly
